All the Books I Forgot to Blog About - 2024 Edition
aka: A Literary Recap of My Neglect
Let’s be honest — 2024 was a chaotic swirl of to-do lists, half-drunk coffees, and best intentions. Somewhere between real life and rewatching old TV shows, I read a whole stack of books... and blogged about none of them. So in the spirit of getting my literary life together (or at least pretending to), here's a rapid-fire roundup of every book I read and loved, forgot to write about, and am now cramming into one mega post.
📚 Me Before You – JoJo Moyes
Yes, I knew the tears were coming. Yes, I read it anyway. Yes, I sobbed in public. This book is emotional damage in the best possible way.
🕵️♀️ Mother-Daughter Murder Night – Nina Simon
This one was equal parts quirky and twisty. Think “cozy murder mystery” meets complicated family dynamics. Bonus points for solid grandma energy.
⏳ Wrong Place Wrong Time – Gillian McAllister
A time-loop thriller that kept me questioning my own memory. Intricately plotted and mind-bendy in a "wait, what just happened?" kind of way.
💄 Ladies of the House – Lauren Edmondson
A modern-day Sense and Sensibility meets political scandal. It's smart, sharp, and surprisingly heartfelt. Also, I now want a Georgetown townhouse.
🏢 The New Couple in 5B – Lisa Unger
Creepy neighbors. Creepy apartment. Creepy secrets. This gave “urban thriller” in all the right ways. Do NOT read in a hotel lobby.
🔁 Maybe Next Time – Cesca Major
It’s Groundhog Day meets heartbreak. Emotional, repetitive (in a good way), and surprisingly hopeful. Also: tissues required. Again.
🎶 Maybe Once, Maybe Twice – Alison Rose Greenberg
Rom-com meets missed chances, musical girlies, and a love triangle that doesn’t make you want to throw the book. Charming and fun.
🌴 The Paradise Problem – Christina Lauren
Fake marriage + tropical drama + family money = the exact kind of chaotic vacation book I love. Christina Lauren never misses.
🕵️ The Invitation – Lucy Foley
It’s giving Agatha Christie on a yacht. Glamorous, slow-burning suspense. Perfect for when you're feeling nosy and nautical.
🧠 Before We Were Innocent – Ella Berman
Messy, layered, and emotionally sharp — this one dives into trauma, friendship, and media frenzy. Would pair well with wine and a lot of thinking.
🎮 Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin
Gorgeous. Brilliant. A book about video games that is somehow not about video games. Made me feel all the feelings and wish I’d blogged about it sooner.
🎄 On the First Day of Christmas – Faith Hogan
Sweet, warm, and wonderfully Irish. Like a Hallmark movie with actual heart. Read with a blanket and hot chocolate, no exceptions.
In Conclusion…
Did I blog about any of these in a timely, organized fashion? Absolutely not. Did I devour them all and form passionate opinions? You bet. So here it is — my overdue love letter to the books that filled 2024 with escape, emotion, and a little chaos.
Now, back to pretending I’ll blog every book in 2025. 😂📖
