Tis the season to decorate!
When we moved overseas, many of our belongings went into storage. When the holidays roll around, I want everything in storage to make the temporary house feel like home. Not to mention, this year, I also decided to host a holiday cookie exchange and wanted everyone attending to feel and smell the holiday season. Here is what I did to transform the house (at least a little).
I purchased these fabulous battery-operated garlands from Amazon. Affiliate link.
I had a stove-top potpourri simmering on low. The ingredients in the pot were apple and orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves.
I also had one of my favorite candles burning in the entryway. Side note: I found the cutest store called Candlefish on a trip to Charleston, SC. If you go to the store, you can browse their scent library. My absolute favorite holiday candle is No. 52 (pine, sugar plum, and amber).
Make it yourself hot chocolate bar. I used these adorable glass jars with bamboo lids and spoons for all the toppings. Affiliate link.
Just a few new items tied into my small collection of Christmas decorations that I brought with me and the I received the one of the greatest compliments from a guest “you really made it feel and smell like Christmas!”
