Happy New Year!
Not only did we leave 2023 behind on 12.31.23 (1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3) it was a Sunday. We started 2024 on a new day, week, month, and year. EVERYTHING is new! We have experienced a proper reset, so I have decided to try something new. I will not make resolutions - I will set intentions. It sounds similar, but it's not the same thing.
A resolution is the outcome, while the intention frames the outcome and is more of a roadmap. For example, resolutions are often goal-based: "I want to lose 15 pounds." An intention focuses on how to reach the result rather than fixating on the outcome. "I will prioritize daily exercise and movement while making healthy food choices."
If you have decided to start something new, get a notebook, Word, or Google Doc and set intentions for the year. I find that writing things down improves my focus and brings me more clarity, and it is satisfying to mark something as accomplished.
